Reading Together at Home
- Reading the same book for the tenth time isn't a rut — repetition is how kids build real confidence with a story.
- Let them "read" a familiar book from memory, even if they're not decoding the words yet. That's real pre-reading practice.
- Before turning the page, ask what they think happens next — guessing is a comprehension skill, not a distraction.
- Point at the pictures as much as the words. At this age, the pictures are doing a lot of the storytelling.
